Naima is having another baby!
This montreal hostel is a project started by a courageous couple with children.  It is not owned by a big company or a big organization.  Every solution is creative and it shows in the ambiance.  There are some values behind all that that needs to be shared and told, like to never have a curfew (what a rude thing to do), to provide good security and a hygienic place.  Also, we would never close the reception at night just in case someone's flight is late.  We would never attract the customer with low prices and charge extra for blankets, internet, laundry and earplugs.  But back to the baby: it is a boy and we all look forward to meet with him.

My name is Marc Berneda. My english is very easy, I don't speak french but I speak spanish or catalan. I'm a problem. I stay in Montreal from 18th July by 21th July and I will be reserved one Hungara cabin. It's possible? but I don't reserve by Hostelsworld because I don't have credit target, I have a visa electron and cybertarget from "La caixa". Is it any solution? Please help

I have stayed at this hostel in the private room during the summer of 2007 and I thought it was lovely and charming and the service was very good considering how hectic a business like this can become in the summer months.

Congratulations on your new baby. I wish I could figure out why the above comment was left on a post that supposed to be about joyful news.

If people want hotel service, they should stay in a hotel!! A hostel is not for the faint of heart!
This is a unique spot with a beautiful design in the heart of Old Montreal and I highly recommend it!

To the staff of Le Sous-Bois,

From June 31st to July 5th we stayed in cabin one. The second morning we woke up with bites all over our body. We informed the front desk. They offered us a new room, which was going to be ready for us that evening.

When we arrived back at the hostel that evening, we were disappointed to see that our room had been left open all day long. We had informed the front desk that we would be gone till the evening. Our possessions could have been stolen. Once we were given the keys to the new cabin, we quickly found out that the room had not been cleaned and did not have new bedding. When we came back to the room the master key with all the cabin keys had been left in our door.

Looking back at what took place, I feel that the situation was not handled professionally and would like your comments.

Regards,
